Adolescent Treatment ProgramThe Adolescent Treatment Program is designed for the treatment of adolescents, ages 12 through 18, with a primary psychiatric diagnosis, and who meet the criteria for medically supervised inpatient treatment. The program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in a 42-bed acute care setting. Adult Addictive Disease ProgramThe Adult Addictive Disease Program is designed for the treatment of patients ages 17 or over with a primary diagnosis of chemical dependency who meet the criteria for medically supervised inpatient treatment. Patients who are so medically fragile that their safety demands treatment in a medical/surgical setting, are so mentally impaired that they cannot reasonably benefit from treatment, or who meet the criteria for treatment in a less restrictive setting may be excluded. The program operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a 22-bed acute care setting. Adult Psychiatric ProgramThe Adult Psychiatric Program is designed for the treatment of adult patients ages 18 and over with a primary psychiatric diagnosis. Some patients may have a secondary substance abuse diagnosis meeting the criteria for medically supervised inpatient treatment. The following patients are excluded:
The program is based in the acute-care setting, in a 38-bed unit, and is in operation 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Behavioral Pain UnitThe Behavioral Pain Management Program is specially designed for adults ages 18 and over, who require treatment for chronic pain and associated mental illness, and who may be psychologically and/or physically dependent on medications to manage their pain. The goal is to provide effective and efficient intervention to individuals with chronic pain conditions. The program allows the patient with pain management issues to work through a crisis, stabilize, and improve the individual’s functional performance and quality of life by promoting the appropriate use of medication and minimizing the risk of substance abuse and/or substance dependence. Children's ProgramThe Children’s Program is based on an 18-bed unit in an acute care setting. The program is for the treatment of children ages 5 through 12 with a primary psychiatric diagnosis which meets the criteria for medically supervised inpatient treatment. Excluded are those patients who are medically unstable to the point that their safety requires treatment in a medical/surgical hospital, those so behaviorally or cognitively impaired that they cannot benefit from treatment, those who meet the criteria for less restrictive treatment, or those with chronic organic brain dysfunction with no treatable psychiatric symptoms. Geriatric Inpatient TreatmentThe Senior Care program at Brentwood Hospital in Shreveport is designed for the treatment of older adults who have a primary psychiatric diagnosis meeting the criteria for medically supervised inpatient treatment. Patients must be medically stable and able to participate in treatment. Patients receive excellent care and treatment by experienced staff. Outpatient ProgramsIn these programs, care is provided as an adjunct to inpatient and partial hospitalization programs. The programs provide the next step in a full continuum of care by allowing patients to continue in therapy while resuming work and other responsibilities. Partial Hospitalization ProgramThese programs are designed to meet the increasing need for variations in psychiatric or substance abuse care. The programs provide care for patients 13 years or older. Individuals with less intensive treatment needs than those addressed through the inpatient setting also benefit from this program. These programs are in operation 5 days a week, 6 hours a day. Areas of care identified are the same as those provided through the Adult Psychiatric Program, Adult Addictive Disease Program, and the Adolescent Program. The admitting/attending psychiatrist will determine level of care. Women’s ProgramThe Women’s Program is a specialty program designed for the treatment of women ages 18 and older with emotional problems, including mood disorders, psychotic disorders, and anxiety disorders.
